Animal Highlight - Red Eye Tree Frogs

  • Red eye tree frogs live in the rain forest of South and Central America.
  • The tree frog is Arizona's state amphibian.
  • Their bodies are about two inches long
  • While sleeping they must protect themselves from any a dangerous they find a crack in a tree and sleep there.
  • They eat insects and even other small frogs
  • Some say they have bright red eyes because its a protection called startled coloration
